Filomena is an Australian artist, born & based in Melbourne.   She completed a Diploma of Photo Imaging at Melbourne Polytechnic in 2016.  Since then, she has been working as a photographer & establishing her photography practice as a narrative photographer.

In her work, Filomena aim's to reflect individual stories.  It’s the personal human story she finds interesting.   She draws inspiration from the simplicity of everyday life.  She focuses on exploring themes affecting the world & people around her, constantly observing & taking inspiration from the circle around her.  Filomena's images are created by her observations, the stories & words she hears & her reflection of both.  She has dedicated her photography practice to producing photo essays.  She is exploring the combined use of still imagery with verbal narratives, which she believes adds another dimension to the stories she chooses to tell.
